The concept of this book is that a Godzilla Film shows the monsters in 2 dimensions, but a model is an monster incarnation of 3 dimensions.

The Castro Theatre in San Francisco was the place to be November 17-23, 2004, in honor of Godzilla's 50th birthday The best Godzilla Film Fest we have known about took place there. This is the 16 page program book from the event sponsored by Bay Area Film Events which showed 20 Godzilla or Kaiju Films.
The special guests were great:Russ Tamblyn (the first ever appearance in regard to War of the Gargantuas), Hiroshi Koizumi who was in Godzilla Raids Again, and many other Godzilla movies (he reprised his role in Mothra 1961 42 years later in Tokyo Sos), Tsutomu Kitagawa (the latest actor to don the Godzilla suit), Jerry Ito best remembered for his role of the vile Clark Nelson in Mothra 1961), Akira Kubo played many roles in Toho Films including Matago, Gorath, Son of Godzilla, Destroy All Monsters.
There are biographies of all the guests in the program. Also every film shown is given several paragraphs of synopsis and commentary by August Ragone of Henshin! Online. The center page has photos from some of the Godzilla Movies. The cover illustration is Mark Nagata.

A wonderful book produced by Moby Dick and released for the premiere in Japan of Godzilla Millennium in 1999. This is a 112 page book of post cards depicting artwork by two of Japan's most talented and prolific artists Kaida, Yuji and Orai, Noriyoshi. Their dramatic renditions of Giant Monsters aka Kaiju appeared as movie posters, books, product artwork, and paintings. This book is printed on heavy stock and comes in a slipcase. This book is new however due to its being printed 17 years ago some of the post cards have loosened the perforations.

The book has wonderful photos of early tin and vinyl toys and models from Marusan, Bullmark, Popy and Bandai. Photos of R/C toys, wind up toys, and even shots of early toy making in Japan! If you are a serious collector of Kaiju Toys this book is a must have reference book.

There are also wonderful photos of the maser cannon, the super weapons and other vehicles used in the movie. GREAT SHOTS OF THE FEMALE LEAD IN FLYING SUIT! Some the pages have photos of other great Toho Monster Movies including "War of the Gargantuas!

It has photos of props and the monster suits. There is a two page fold out of the impressive artwork poster of the movie. Super weapons and costumes are also represented.
It has detailed drawings of the meganula, meganulon, and the final form Megaguirus. Megaguirus is one of my favorite Godzilla Foes. There are behind the scenes shots and also stills from the movie.

This is a RARE collectible Godzilla theater exclusive item. This is an original theater program from the Toho Movie Godzilla vs Megalon shown in Japan in 1973. It is 35 years old! The program has 10 pages of scenes from the movie and includes photos from some of the earlier Godzilla films. It is done primarily in two toned printing although the front and back covers are full color. It also has a page from the movies it was shown with (a Japanese soccer movie and an animated Panda Movie).
It is in good condition. There is creasing, darker spots on edges of paper, some separation in middle and creasing on paper. All in all a good example of a hard to find Godzilla program.

This is a beautiful hardback book of 105 illustrations (95 in color) by the famous Japanese artist Naoyuki Katoh and his Studio Nue. His work is prominent on the covers of SF Magazine and other SF books. If you love science fiction art then you will love this book! The full color glossy reproductions of his art are spectacular! There is a forward in Japanese and English translation by Sakyo Komatsu.
The book was published by Asahi Sonorama in 1981 and is long out of print. It measures 12 by 9 inches. It is a vintage book in excellent condition.
This is another Must Have book which is an incredible companion to not only the latest in the Japanese Godzilla franchise but the entire Godzilla film series. It is called Shin Godzilla Walker in part because it follows the routes of not only Shin Godzilla through the Tokyo landscape, but it has disaster hazard maps of the 1954 Godzilla, 1984 Godzilla and 1995 Godzilla. This book covers so much from the earliest photos of the 1954 Godzilla maquette to the amazing final models of Shin Godzilla. All the important personnel from 1954 to the present are given some coverage (in Japanese) and many many photos of all aspect of film production. This book is published by Kadokawa and is 121 pages.
From the Special Graphix series of soft cover books comes Godzilla vs King Ghidora! The book was published in 1991 and is out of print. There are 81 exciting action packed pages of photos and design sketches and illustrations The primary focus of the book is the 1991 film however there are a few pages devoted to the history of Godzilla. There are some fascinating conceptual illustrations of the M-11 Android and vehicle weapons.
There are extensive cast and crew interviews (in Japanese) but lots of photos of all primary cast and crew. There are maps to show where all the Godzilla action takes place. The book has many SPFX photos and behind the scenes shots. The photos are both in B &W and color.

For all you fans of the Actresses of Toho Studios here is a GREAT soft cover book published in 2010. Most of the Actresses were seen in Toho's Monster movies such as the Godzilla series, the Mothra series, The War of the Gargantuas, The Invisible Man, Matango in addition to some of their historical dramas, gangster films or other special effects movies. The book spans the years 1954-2004. T here are wonderful behind the scenes photos as well as publicity shots and action photos from the movies. Some of the incredibly talented women included in this book are Kumi Mizuno, Miki Sanjo, Akemi Negishi, Yuriko Hoshi, Mie Hama, Akiko Wakabayashi, Yukiko Kobayashi and Megumi Odaka. There are many others not listed.

This is the highly sought BOOK Women of Toho Science Fiction and Fantasy Movies. It is full of fabulous photos of the actresses from 1954-2004 who played memorable parts in Toho's Special Effects (Tokusatsu) Films. Many of these actresses such as Mizuno, Kumi and Hoshi, Yuriko also had parts in Toho period movies, dramas, and comedies. The actresses Hama, Mie and Wakabayashi, Akiko who also appeared in one of our favorite James Bond movies "You Only Live Twice," which was set in Japan are honored in this book. The book is 160 pages of historic photos and text (in Japanese). There are 27 actresses given several pages of coverage. The book also includes a page on the Heisei Mothra movies' actresses and the Millennium Godzilla series actresses. This must have book measures 12 by 8 1/2.
